The CMP related research project (ReCMP) supported by the Finnish Society of Soil and Water Technology (Maa- ja vesitekniikan tuki ry) was launched in the beginning of 2012 and is now proceeding at full speed. The project will produce one doctoral dissertation, three master’s thesis works and one bachelor’s thesis work. The Ph.D. student and two M.Sc. students are from Ethiopia, one M.Sc. from Nepal and the B.Sc. student is from Somalia. This research project is implemented in cooperation with Tampere University of Technology (Finland), Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia) and Indira Gandhi Open University (India) and the COWASH project is assisting the researchers in practical arrangements in their field works.

As of May 2012, one of the M.Sc. level students is already finalizing his thesis, another one has completed her field work and the remaining M.Sc. and B.Sc. students are collecting data in the field in Amhara at this very moment. The doctoral student has prepared his research plan and is going to start the practical part as soon as he has received all the data from the other researcher.

The plan is to publish the results of all the M.Sc. theses and the B.Sc. thesis latest in the spring 2013 and the Ph.D. student is to defend his doctoral dissertation at Tampere University of Technology in 2014.
